Track info
Muchacho is an independent New Wave band hailing from the suburban strip mall paradise of Florida. With the blending of dance grooves, quirky 1980s post-punk vocals, modern synth sounds and choppy guitars, they’ve honed a mature sound that has been compared to contemporaries like Phoenix, Bleachers and Foster the People.
The American trio's (Jesús Nuñez, Dan Farias, & Nick George) re-imagined modus operandi has been fueled by a rambunctious and adolescent DIY spirit. All songs are self-produced and self-recorded in Jesús’ little music corner at home or Nick’s garage-turned-home-studio. Being raised in the land of retirees and empty shopping malls has left the group with minimal creative outlets, and they’re only safe haven from the mundane quickly became their studio to write anthemic music that contrast the apparent lackluster surroundings.
The long time collaborators reunited after a 2 year musical hiatus in early 2018. After several line-up changes in their previous project and the inevitable end of Supros, the group began to experiment with different sounds including the introduction of synthesizers. Choosing to constantly challenge themselves and their norms, the three chose to abandon their respective roles. Trading in their posts and equally assuming the roles of songwriter and producer.
Muchacho is currently finishing their debut album set to release in early 2020.
