Hailing from Bristol, UK, British producer Sam Higgins — or Nu Aspect as his more commonly known — is an artist we’ve been championing for a while over here at Selected. Heavily inspired by the early dubstep and UK bass records that took hold of the underground scene in the UK, his diverse discography takes influence from myriad genres across the electronic music spectrum, from Drum and Bass and Bassline all the way through to Future House and Deep Tech.
Since debuting on our YouTube channel back in March 2017 with Things I Said, we’ve been lucky enough to welcome back the burgeoning producer time and time again for a slew of majestic hits including Light, Said To You, What’s In My Head, Run Deep and Something Real. Now, returning to Selected for his first outing of the year, the prolific British talent looks to open his 2022 tally with a bang as he drops his latest musical masterpiece Afterlife.
Joining forces with Philadelphia-based house music artist Jewels (Need You, Paralyzed and Falling With You) and 23-year-old Glaswegian singer-songwriter MAGNUS (Holding On, Paralyzed, Liar and Cool) the three artists converge to deliver a perfectly executed house cut that captivates from the off. Infectious vocal hooks, deep basslines and shuffling rhythms form the backbone of the release, as Nu Aspect, Jewels and MAGNUS pull out all the stops to lay down a warm, emotive deep house anthem that'll live long in the memory.
