Eat My Hat Music opens the new year with a new single from label boss Ziger. The Greek artist is coming off a successful 2021, which was highlighted by a trio of well received collaborations and timely solo releases, none more notable than 'Sky Is The Limit' which put a resounding stamp on the year with a late December release. Now, carrying that momentum forward, Ziger unveils his latest studio production 'Different', alongside remixes from Mind Conspiracy and Dark Soul Project.
Following on from the aforementioned 'Sky Is The Limit', Ziger continues to amaze with the electric sounds of 'Different'. Following a swing heavy intro, the Greek artist unleashes muscular beats, pulsating rhythms and quirky arps as the first act begins to take shape. Dark and emotive, a series of astral motifs and percussive flurries provide a segue into a near two-minute interlude. Wavy arps and balmy atmospheres bring forth a healthy dose of cosmic colour, before a vivid build unleashes a finale of indistinct vocals and astral synth phrasing.
Returning to Eat My Hat and providing the first interpretation of 'Different' is label artist Mind Conspiracy. Since making his Eat My Hat debut in March of 2020, the Greek artist has quickly called the label his primary home, notching eight discography credits across the next two years. On the strength of a collaboration with Ziger, 2021 proved to be a breakout year for Mind Conspiracy, one where he continued to blur the lines between progressive house and melodic house and techno with ease, while never losing sight of a peak time dancefloor. Now, as the new year begins Mind Conspiracy continues to build his portfolio with a powerful rendition of 'Different'. Playing off the strength of the original, arpeggiated fragments dance against a backdrop of charged beats and blustery atmospheres. Warm chord changes and panning vocals bring further emotional depth leading in the main break, where Mind Conspiracy's keen dance floor sense shines once again. As muted beats get washed away, pristine arps take centrestage, with their irresistible luster transferring energy into a deep and impassioned finale.
The release concludes Dark Soul Project making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Different'. The Argentinean artist and We Are The Underground label boss has been a known figure in the progressive music scene for over a decade. A discography of nearly one hundred and fifty credits is highlighted by projects for Beat Boutique, Balkan Connection, Nature Rec and Stripped Recordings. Now adding Eat My Hat to his resume, Dark Soul Project makes his label debut with a groovy take on 'Different'. Aptly coined 'Ethereal Mix', the Argentine constructs a framework with a greater sense of space for a bevy of fluttery fragments to work their magic. Tense and cinematic in equal measure, the main break brings further drama and perfectly sets the stage for an emotive, vocal-led finale. Sitting as a great complement to the previous two versions, it rounds out another must have release for Ziger's Eat My Hat to begin the new year.
