The Astroconductor is the ancient guardian of the Paths Between the Worlds. He does not create routes, but keeps a balance between them. His burning eyes see not only space, but also time: every possible road, every outcome of choice.
The ticket he holds out is not just a pass. This is a piece of reality enclosed in paper, which the passenger must experience. He "pays" the cost of the trip with the cash register: in return for the journey through the stars, he charges something valuable - memories, dreams, or even parts of his soul.
The Astroconductor is neither evil nor kind. He is a necessity. His appearance means that the choice has been made and the road is open. You can't go back: the ticket has been issued and the seal has been placed. The portal behind him is lit only for those who are ready to hit the road.
