This is a beautiful fairytale metaphor about a little girl living in a wooden cottage, where the fire crackled in the stove, and she struggled to fall asleep. The only thing that helped her was the lullaby of a cat, who came every night before bed to lull her to sleep. Then he would sit nearby, purring his quiet song and guarding the girl’s dreams.
