Dioptrics

Dioptrics is one of the pillars of drum and bass in the United States. For many years, he has worked tirelessly to advance the genre through his DJing, event promotion and music production.

Raised in Texas and residing in Chicago, Dioptrics draws on influences from all corners. His music is a reflection of the turbulent, and at times, violent era we live in today. His beats stand out for their raw, unflinching power, paired with deliberate control. His tracks fuse today's production aesthetic with a reverence for the foundation of our genre that can only come from many years in the game, making them standouts in any DnB set. His music has been released on numerous labels including DSCI4, Machinist Music, Def:Ltd, Biotic and his own Abducted and Abducted Ltd imprints.

For legal reasons, Dioptrics has not been permitted to leave the US. However he has performed across the United States leaving his mark in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia and dozens more.

His Funktion-One-powered monthly events at Chicago's legendary Smart Bar have received worldwide attention, having hosted some of the most significant figures in Drum and Bass. Dioptrics also co-manages DSCI4, Machinist Music, Abducted and Abducted Ltd (co-founding the latter two with Bad Syntax). In addition to his active career in drum and bass, Dioptrics is a world-renown tattoo artist and proud dad.
