‘Funk Decision’ is a gripping snapshot of Florian Picasso as he continues to evolve his melodic deep house sound. Pairing a bright topline melody with a dark and muscular deep house groove, this is a unique slice of club magic from Florian Picasso. The musical innovator and La Californie Musique label head has conjured up another dance floor weapon with his latest masterpiece.

Reflecting on the track, Florian said, “‘Funk Decision’ is a record I started a year ago in Los Angeles. It’s the perfect mid-set track in my opinion. I wanted to have a darker bass line and then add the trumpets that brightens up the mood and the mix of both gives it a unique sound.”

Elsewhere on the EP, Florian is joined by some esteemed production peers. Inspired by the hedonism of the Dubai club scene, EchoStorms wasted no time in producing his house heater ‘Skip The Line’ at the iconic FIVE Palm Jumeirah. With all elements of the track written, performed and by EchoStorms, ‘Skip The Line’ is an all-original dance floor filler. Next up, ‘Bustin’ Clips’ is a UK Drill-inspired House cut from Irish producer Hyyken, using warping synths and analog basslines to drive home the heavy groove. Finally, B/AN/K’s ‘Once Again’ is a blend of pulsating beats, hypnotic basslines, and irresistible rhythms – a track designed to make your body move and your soul soar.

Artistic DJ & Producer Florian Picasso has been incredibly active in 2023. Besides launching his own imprint La Californie Musique, he has been releasing an array of tech-house bangers throughout the year, all of which have been receiving support from renowned electronic music publications as well as from recognized artists, DJs, Radio Shows and the Dance community at large. Picasso’s musical style could be seen as an ode to his family’s artistic legacy. Florian has been creating his music at the legendary Picasso family home and atelier, Villa La Californie in Cannes, France, where he’s installed a music studio. He found it important to pay tribute to such an iconic and impactful place of inspiration and is now writing his own story with his own signature, never limiting his creative mind. Picasso has been producing a slew of strong house tracks with raw underground tech influences that have been supported across the industry, and the latest one is no different.
