HML (Hit My Line) was written and recorded in the early summer of 2019. Shortly after recording Eyes Wide Open I knew that I was ready to search for my first big name feature.
I was listening to Suigeneris when the idea came across my mind to reach out to him and see what would happen.
For the next couple of days I made countless songs, but none of them really had that kick to it. I was messing around in my room freestyling when the lyrics of the chorus came straight out of my mouth. I ran upstairs to the studio and it must have been fate because the first beat I opened up fit perfectly with the lyrics of the chorus.
When I finished recording the chorus a few hours later I sent the song over to Suigeneris’s manager, and I didn’t even have lyrics for a verse even thought up. A day passed by and his manager sent me his verse on the song and it blew my mind that I now had a song with a big name feature.
Even though the chorus was technically just something I freestyled, when i went to write all the lyrics I wanted it to sound like something Suigeneris would actually get on. So, that’s why the song has that hype vibe to it. It only took 3 days for the entire song to be made including waiting for his verse.
I will forever remember the first time I heard his verse. It completely changed my perspective of myself as an artist. Thank you Suigeneris.
