The View is a dreamy, transitory look at changing perspectives, self discovery, and reacting to an uncertain world. Written over the course of two years of constant change and unpredictability, the latest Kite Jennings record spans a period of self discovery, swinging from quiet contemplation to hazy confusion, bright optimism to anxious dread. On this record, composer/songwriter Jacob Farber dives headfirst into self examination. "Breakers on the Waves" confronts the moments when we must cling to our past versions of our lives or learn to let go, swimming through an oceanic wall of synths, pushing and pulling like tides. But the darkest moments of claustrophobic thoughts and distorted ideas give way in bright bursts to sweeping, textural landscapes. Cinematic pop production and rich layers of sound break through on tracks like "Paris" into larger than life moments where the anxieties of every day life get lost in the world. The view is constantly shifting, but there's always excitement in something new.
