"The Downshift" album represents a break from Mad Osc' "The Uplift" series dropped the first 3 installments. The Downshift is different in several ways: first of all the Downshift is an instrumental album where "The Uplift" series feature vocals.

With the "Downshift", Mad Hugs would create an initial beat and then Oscify would layer additional instrumentation in a live improvisational fashion leading to a raw, dynamic listening experience. A sort of drum and bass ambient jazz mashup, blending staccatto drums with soaring keys and synthesizers. Seamlessly blending the abstract with the heavy and melodic, both grounding and expansive, this album is excellent instrumental music for study, gaming, driving, chilling, smoking, or whatever...
