Some grooves never let you go. For Phil Fuldner, the bassline from El Coco's 1987 Afrodesia has been following him around for nearly three decades. You might have already heard the original, but this special 12" mix is something only the deepest diggers know - and thanks to his friend Dan Dinsing, Phil finally got his hands on it again.

A first sketch came together fast and got a bigger reaction than expected, but the road from idea to release took three years - mostly to make that all-important sample clearance a reality. Mousse T. was the very first to hear it (in a super-early state) and kept encouraging Phil to finish the job, throwing in the occasional gentle kick to keep it on track.

Now Afrodesia is here at last - a sun-soaked, disco-powered floorfiller that blends nostalgia with fresh energy. Long build-up, quick delivery… and absolutely worth the wait.
