New York house veteran Eric Kupper remixes a Ron Carroll-produced excursion by Melbourne-based vocalist JoysSoul (real name Joys Jambi) that first saw the light of day back in 2019. It's always struck this writer as slightly ironic that Kupper is first and foremost a keyboardist, because to these ears it's always been his second-to-none drum programming that ensures his rubs will stand out on just about any remix package his name appears on. He doesn't disappoint in that regard here, either: 'What I Want' had yours truly hooked from the very first bar and if you're a fan of classic-style soulful house/garage, it'll almost certainly hook you too.
