Montreal’s Half-truth and Detroit’s London & Rome’s collaborative EP as Salvors grew out of a chance meeting in LA in November of 2014. Over overpriced beers, L&R invited HT to join an email-based song-per-week “songwriting club” and in no time at all, the two started collaborating, with those initial tracks becoming the seeds of this EP.
Created by firing seemingly endless amounts of lyrics, Voice Memos, WAV files and MP3s back-and-forth by Google Drive and new chat app Slack, the two have attempted to join cutting-edge production and hooks together with vivid, story-telling lyrics.
Opening track “Stuck In My Head” talks about sleep lost for a loved one over a chugging beat, “Calculator” calls out a partner who just can’t open up, while closer “Diving In” sees a romance develop from a blind date with, of all things, a bit-crushed ukelele hook.
London & Rome is a fixture of the Michigan live music scene both solo and as a member of band Muteflutes. Her debut solo album will be released later in 2016.
Half-truth has been played on commercial radio, had features in XLR8R magazine, remixed countless artists & played M for Montreal, MEG, MUTEK, Piknic Electronik, Igloofest and more, under various names.
