Air is a protest to the era of disconnection, that prevents us from looking at each other as inspirations, but rather sets our minds up in a state of destruction, competitiveness and defensiveness.
I spent quite some time wallowing in my insecurities and my fear for greatness, so much that I almost forgot it takes a lot of courage in a time like this to be real, to still believe we can inspire each other, to believe we can support and help people around us by simply being a great example. It’s a tremendous work that I can only actively do while I am alive.
Air is vital for our survival, which is something that we’ve started reconsidering during this tough year. In this very moment, I am grateful I can use my voice to do what I love, while providing an outlet to whoever needs music to understand and express themselves, most especially young adults.
With this song, I am trying to talk to someone who has lost focus, their compass or purpose. That’s why the lyrics feel almost fragmented but still disclosing a clear message. I am trying to remind that someone that finding the strength to be you and to be a role model is a path to greatness, where we can all walk, for as long as we breathe.”
