“Fourth Reich Arising” was written as a warning to the world about the current rising tide of fascism. This composition was called into being when it became undeniably clear that the white supremacists which made up the Third Reich had not gone away but had in fact been organizing and recruiting. This song warns of the domestic terrorists that were born and raised here in the United States of America. They are the men who scream about murder while they wield the very guns that kill children in churches, synagogues, and schools.

The horn parts are a sonic homage to Henrik Ibsen’s classic composition “In the Hall of the Mountain Troll”. The world troll means something very different then it meant back then. Today’s trolls flood the internet from government offices, creating echo chambers of hate, fear, and ignorance that divide the public and propagate unjust political agendas. Ultimately, “Fourth Reich Arising” calls out these trolls and rallies the idea that “we must not let them build up all the hate and feast on their fear”.
