Hil St Soul was born Hilary Mwelwa in Lusaka, Zambia and relocated to London with her family at the age of 5. From childhood, she adopted her father’s love of music, as their home was immersed with the sounds of traditional Zambian music along with American R&B/soul icons such as Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. As a graduate of London’s Westminster University, Hilary had early ambitions to go into the science field and earned a degree in biological sciences. While at university, Hilary started to explore her musical interests and after taking a year off from studies, she recorded her first demo - Aretha Franklin classic ‘Until you come back to me’. Having had no formal musical training, Hilary followed her heart and today, she commands a place in the global soul family with a formidable discography to her name including Soul Organic, Copasetik & Cool, Black Rose and now her track ‘Soul Train’ taken from Tom Glide’s #1 LP, ‘Divas Got Soul’.

The result of Hil St Soul’s collaboration with Tom is the achingly beautiful ‘Soul Train’; the lyrics reference soul greats, positive vibes and uplifting sentiments - forget about your troubles and get on board.
