Born outside of Vancouver, British Columbia and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Carter got her start in musical theatre - however, it was performing for crowds that really set her soul on fire. With a lifelong love of country music impressed upon her by family (several family members are established musicians), Carter embarked on her own musical journey - and signed her first label deal in 2011 with a Canadian indie label as the female half of successful duo Autumn Hill.

The experience gave Carter some much needed direction, and as the duo disbanded in 2012, she set out on her own. She met her band members (the same band members she tours with today) and began performing at area bars, all while developing her sound and identity as a solo artist. In 2016, she finished and released her first five-song, self-titled EP, and continued playing shows - opening for national acts like Kira Isabella, George Canyon, Brett Kissel, The Band Perry, and Chase Rice, among others.

In August of 2016, from a field of over 270 applicants and with over 44,000 fan votes, Carter won the coveted SiriusXM Emerging Artist Showcase Competition at the prestigious Canadian Boots and Hearts Festival. The win led to her first major label offer from Universal Music Canada, with whom she signed shortly after. The following year, she was invited back to open the Boots and Hearts Festival and, in 2018, she released her debut single “Bless My Heart” to Canadian Country Radio.

Now an independent artist, Carter moved to Nashville, Tennessee to further her career in music. In November 2018, she released her three-song Merry Christmas To You EP, followed by single “Heart of a Woman” in January 2020. Her new single “Broke Your Own” is due out in October.
